At Shangri-La, The Marina, Cairns, we have an excellent opportunity for a Food & Beverage Team Leader, dedicated to providing exceptional service at a 5-star level, to join the Leadership Team of our Food & Beverage Department.The HotelShangri-La The Marina, Cairns is a luxury five-star hotel located beside Marlin Marina and Trinity Inlet in the heart of Cairns. With 255 guest rooms, 18 function venues and extensive food and beverage facilities, the hotel is part of a leading international company with more than 100 hotels and resorts worldwide.The RoleAs the Team Leader, you will work across the designated service areas to maximize profits, maintain food, beverage, service quality and ensure customer satisfaction for all F&B outlets including :
The Backyard - our Waterfront Restaurant, Bar and Garden area serving breakfast, lunch, dinner and drinks;
The Kiosk;
The Pool Bar;
Conferences and Events
This will also encompass daily shift opening and closure responsibilities in collaboration with the Supervisor/Manager as appropriate.About YouSuccessful candidates will possess the following:
Proven experience as a Team Leader or within a leadership role
Ability to obtain comprehensive understanding and knowledge of the F&B offerings and processes within their appointed section
Ability to become familiar with, observes and ensures that all employees in the Backyard follow F&B policies and procedures
Ability to ensure that F&B colleagues maintain a consistently high standard of professional appearance as per Shangri-La's presentation guidelines
Ability to Monitor and ensure smooth operation of the section appointed (restaurants / banquet / beverage / mini bar / in room dining - as applicable)
Ability to maintain consistency in quality of food and beverage / service / cleanliness of sections appointed
Ability to obtain customer feedback during operations to ensure satisfaction
Ability to handle complaints with the assistance of Supervisors and Managers as appropriate to ensure the correct follow up and reporting processes are adhered to
Restaurant A La Carte experience
Professionalism and pride within their personal grooming
Valid working rights in Australia
A current RSA Certificate
Flexibility to work Morning, Afternoon and Evening Shifts across a 7-day roster, including weekends and public holidays.
Experience in processing payments and handling cash and card transactions
High motivation and energy with the desire to deliver excellent guest experiences.
