We offer a variety of flexible work arrangement options (e.g. flexible hours and working from home) where appropriate giving you even greater quality of work life balance.Permanent employees benefit from our great value gym membership from $15.50/week giving access to a vast network of gyms in Sydney.To assist the Parks & Sportsfields Operations section to deliver day-labour services for the maintenance and improvement of Council’s parks, sportsfields, open space and recreation areas such that the works and services of Council contribute to the desired community outcomes as outlined in the Community Strategic Plan.Working as part of the Trees, Parks & Streetscapes service unit and reporting to the Parks Landscaping Team Leader you will undertake work and activities to help ensure that the team consistently meet its targets and commitments against your individual and team performance plans and Council’s Operational and Strategic Plans.You will be community focused and work collaboratively with the Manager Parks & Sportsfields Operations, Coordinator Landscaping and Parks Landscaping Team Leader to ensure the success of the service unit.Please read the to familiarise yourself with all the requirements and conditions of the role.$57,955 to $63,321 + SuperannuationSome of the required skills, experience and qualifications
  • Relevant horticultural qualification OR equivalent industry experience in parks and sportsfields operations.
  • Good interpersonal communication skills. Ability to learn to use field devices (eg. tablets) for managing daily team work plans.
  • Understanding and commitment to equal employment opportunities, diversity, work health and safety, ethical practice and acting with probity at all times.
  • Class C Motor Vehicle Driver’s Licence.
  • Suitable level of fitness to perform the inherent duties of the position
