With a booming, culturally rich and diverse community, and less than an hour's drive from the CBD (still within the bounds of Myki and ride-sharing), Melbourne's North is fastNorthern Health are seeking applications from motivated and suitably experienced Dietitian to join the Dietetics department.About Northern Health:Northern Health is the major provider of acute, maternity, sub-acute, mental health, specialist, community and home-based services in Melbourne's rapidly growing outer north.Services are provided through our five main campuses:Northern Hospital Epping, Broadmeadows Hospital, Bundoora Centre, Craigieburn Centre, and Kilmore District Hospital.In addition, Mental Health Services are provided at Epping, Broadmeadows, Jacana, Preston, Mill Park and Coburg.About the Role:The role will require high level expertise within acute dietetics, particularly complex surgical, medical patients and critical care patients and be based at The Northern Hospital - Epping.This position will work closely with the multidisciplinary team including medical staff, nursing staff, allied health clinicians and other relevant operational staff to deliver high quality dietetic services.Staff are expected to work a minimum of one weekend (inclusive of Saturday and Sunday) per month to every 6 weeks, and nominate for public holiday cover throughout the year.To be successful in this role you will have:
- Minimum 3 years clinical experience
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the area of acute adult nutrition (critical care, complex surgical and medical patients)
- Well-developed interpersonal skills and effective verbal and written communication skills that facilitate an ability to work
- An ability to work in a multidisciplinary team and provide staff/ community education
- Demonstrated negotiation and conflict resolution skills
- Commitment to ongoing professional development
- Competent computer skills particularly in word processing and Internet use, and the ability to learn dedicated software
- Understanding of the cultural diversity of the community
- Current Victorian Driver License
