Lead the design, implementation, upgrades, and maintenance of Mainframe Db2 database systems.
Perform database optimizations, tuning, monitoring, and capacity planning to ensure optimal performance.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues.
Ensure the security and integrity of the database systems through effective access controls and monitoring.
Develop, Plan, and implement backup and recovery strategies for Mainframe Db2 databases.
Provide technical expertise and mentoring as required.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure database systems meet business requirements.
Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging technologies in mainframe systems and database administration.
Participate in 24x7 Db2 database support roster.

Education and Experience Required:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
Proven experience as a Mainframe Db2 Infrastructure Database Administrator, with a minimum of 10 years in a senior role.
Strong understanding of Mainframe Db2 database architecture and administration.
Experience supporting government accounts, or other large mainframe environments, under stringent Service Levels.

Knowledge and Skills:

In-depth knowledge of Db2 database management and optimization on Mainframe systems.
High level of proficiency in database performance tuning and troubleshooting.
Experience with database backup and recovery procedures, including Disaster Recovery.
Knowledge of DB2 Third Party Products such as Broadcom Database Management Solution for DB2
Familiarity with relevant tools and technologies in the Mainframe environment. Understanding or recent SYSPLEX experience an advantage.
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
