- Lead the design, implementation, upgrades, and maintenance of Mainframe Db2 database systems.
- Perform database optimizations, tuning, monitoring, and capacity planning to ensure optimal performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues.
- Ensure the security and integrity of the database systems through effective access controls and monitoring.
- Develop, Plan, and implement backup and recovery strategies for Mainframe Db2 databases.
- Provide technical expertise and mentoring as required.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure database systems meet business requirements.
- Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging technologies in mainframe systems and database administration.
- Participate in 24x7 Db2 database support roster.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Proven experience as a Mainframe Db2 Infrastructure Database Administrator, with a minimum of 10 years in a senior role.
- Strong understanding of Mainframe Db2 database architecture and administration.
- Experience supporting government accounts, or other large mainframe environments, under stringent Service Levels.
- In-depth knowledge of Db2 database management and optimization on Mainframe systems.
- High level of proficiency in database performance tuning and troubleshooting.
- Experience with database backup and recovery procedures, including Disaster Recovery.
- Knowledge of DB2 Third Party Products such as Broadcom Database Management Solution for DB2
- Familiarity with relevant tools and technologies in the Mainframe environment. Understanding or recent SYSPLEX experience an advantage.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Australian Citizen.
