As a Waste Facility Operator, you'll play a crucial role in helping to manage our waste facility's day-to-day operations. Your responsibilities will include overseeing daily activities, managing recycling and diversion processes, loading waste and supervising customers. Site maintenance, including grass cutting and litter management, will also be part of your duties. Providing excellent customer service and helping to ensure the safety of everyone on site are key aspects of the role.Council benefits:

This is a permanent full-time position based at the O’Mara Road Wellcamp facility.
This position requires working any five days out of seven, with penalty rates applying.
On-the-job Training:
Learn new skills and operate different plant machinery

Hands-on training and support
The base rate for this position is $1,257.27 gross per week plus penalty rates,
plus 17.5% annual leave loading

and up to 12.65% superannuation.
In addition to the base wage rate, variable allowances are available (for example - on call, overtime, asbestos allowance, wet weather).

Mandatory Qualifications, training or experience for this position:

Current ‘C’ Class Manual Licence with the eligibility to obtain ‘MR’ Medium Rigid Licence within 6 months of commencement.
Construction Industry White Card
Possession of at least one (1) of the following nationally recognised Major Plant competencies highly desirable with the eligibility to obtain within 6 months of commencement:

Highly desirable qualifications, experience and training:

Minor Equipment/Machinery:

Ride on Sweeper
Ride on Mower
Brush Cutter
Blower
Removal of Non-Friable Asbestos Certificate
First Aid Certificate

Ability to be ‘fit-tested’
