- Programming, setting and operating CNC vertical mills and lathes for the manufacture of relatively small, low quantity steel components.
- Perform quality checks on finished components.
- Routine maintenance of machines and calibration of measuring equipment.
- Cutting / preparing materials prior to machining.
- Maintain a clean and efficient work area.
- Follow Safe Work Instructions and comply with safe work practices.
- Must have demonstrated experience in CNC milling and turning (experience with on-machine conversational programming preferred).
- Must be skilled in the use of metal cutting tools and measuring instruments.
- Must have a high level of attention to detail.
- Must be able to interpret and understand drawings.
- Must be able to openly communicate, follow procedures and work within a small highly motivated team.
- Relevant trade qualification preferred.
- Conventional turning and milling experience preferred.
- Experience with AutoCAD or similar drafting software preferred.
- Forklift licence preferred.
- Car licence preferred.
- Willingness to learn new skills, share knowledge and operate new machinery.
