They now seek an experienced Metal Machinist to join their team.The RoleThis is a full time role with an annual salary between $58,000 to $62,000 plus superannuation.The ResponsibilitiesSome tasks may include:Interpreting blueprints and specifications to determine the most appropriate materials, machining processes, and sequences of operations required for each taskSelecting suitable metal stock for machining tasks, including assessing the material properties required for the final product and preparing the metal stock for machiningSetting up machine tools for operation, including adjusting guides, stops, and other controls to ensure precision during the machining processProgramming computer numerical control (CNC) machines with the precise movements and operations needed to manufacture parts to exact specificationsOperating various machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, and grinders to cut, bore, grind, and shape the metal into the desired parts with fine tolerancesUsing precision measuring instruments such as micrometres, callipers, and gauges to check the dimensions and tolerances of machined partsAssembling metal parts and subassemblies to construct complete machines and equipmentCutting, threading, bending, and installing hydraulic and pneumatic pipes and linesPreparing and setting up pattern mechanisms for textile machinesDiagnosing mechanical faults, performing routine operational maintenanceUndertaking the overhaul and repair of mechanical parts, fluid power equipment, and other machine componentsApplying various welding and metal joining techniques as required during the fabrication or repair of machine parts and assembliesPerforming surface finishing operations, such as polishing and coatingEnsuring all machining, assembly, and maintenance activities comply with safety standards and regulationsMaintaining accurate records of machining operations, adjustments, and maintenance activitiesThe Requirements:Certificate III in relevant trade qualificationAble to interpret complex engineering blueprints and specificationsMinimum of 3 years' relevant experience in a high-precision machining environmentAt least 3 years' experience in multi-axis CNC programming and operation.At least 3 years' experience with advanced measurement tools and techniquesProficiency in using CAD/CAM software.Strong knowledge of metallurgy and material science, especially exotic alloys and composites
