They assist students in making relevant, meaningful connections with learning content, implementing explicit teaching strategies and differentiating instruction to ensure accessibility. Education Assistants assess, and report on, student progress using their excellent interpersonal skills to provide feedback on students to teaching staff.Suitable applicants will join our Targeted Teaching learning area and wider school community, working collaboratively to foster student growth in academic and wellbeing areas. The school offers a highly structured Targeted Learning Support Program named ‘Strive’ for literacy and numeracy intervention; based on evidence-based and direct instruction principles. Education Assistants hold an instrumental role in supporting the delivery of these group intervention classes; and as such, applicants with experience in improving students’ literacy and numeracy skills are strongly encouraged to apply.We are seeking applications from individuals who are committed to building and maintaining strong working relationships with staff and students. Suitable applicants will ideally have strong professional knowledge in supporting students with additional learning needs; including the ability to promote positive student engagement and behaviour.   • Demonstrated good organisational skills that will assist in the delivery and development of effective education programs to students and subsequent feedback to teaching professionals or psychologists.
  • Demonstrated ability to assist teachers or therapists in implementing educational programs, including special education and, should this be a requirement of the position, occupational and/or physiotherapy programs.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of health and physical disabilities in students and adolescents.
  • Demonstrated ability to assist with general health and well-being of students.
