The opportunityAn exciting opportunity is available to join our winemaking team in the heart of the Barossa Valley. Reporting to the Winemaker and working closely with our cellar and laboratory teams, the role blends winemaking and hands-on practical winery operations with the opportunity to grow your breadth of wine industry experience.What you'll be doingThe Assistant Winemaker supports the Winemaker across all aspects of daily winery operations ensuring quality and efficiency through winemaking processes, including practical hands-on involvement in cellar work, wine trials and essential administrative and logistical tasks across all wine-related activities.
This is a full-time, permanent role working Monday to Friday outside of vintage, with occasional weekend and after-hours work where required. During vintage, a commitment to shift work across a 7-day roster, including nights and weekends, is required.Responsibilities will include:

Assist in the management of winemaking processes from vintage operations through to finished wine
Support planning and coordination of cellar operations.
Ensure winemaking systems are updated accurately and efficiently
Review and maintain high quality winemaking procedures and practices
Engage in hands-on cellar and laboratory operations
Contribute to innovation and continuous improvement in our approach to winemaking
Grow your leadership experience and skills as a valued member of our winery team and foster a positive workplace

Job Requirements What you'll bring

You have a tertiary qualification in Oenology and are passionate about winemaking
You have 2-5 years' experience in a winery environment
Hands-on, practical experience is desirable
You are committed to developing your job knowledge and expertise through continual professional development
You are motivated to succeed and thrive working in a high-performance culture delivering high-quality outcomes
You naturally have high attention to detail and are quick to learn systems and processes.
