What is the role?We are seeking an adult education professional with a mindset of continuous improvement and adaptation for the role of Research & Digital Resources Officer. Reporting to the Team Leader Education Services, you will work closely with the Director, Academic Programs to enhance the strategic direction of our higher education programs via the management of our library systems in the ongoing development of our digital capabilities. You will have recent academic experience, as well as working in a professional education setting, be a flexible and adaptable team player with excellent communication and customer service skills.You will also be required to contribute to the achievement of outcomes in accordance with the regulatory framework, the AFP Code of Conduct and the AFP Governance Instruments. It is expected that the successful applicant will deliver on the core responsibilities and meet any requirements of the position as outlined below.What will you do?You will be responsible for undertaking a range of academic support activities, library knowledge management and research services. Primarily, you will provide timely academic and research support to our higher education participants and alumni.
You will develop and deliver academic support sessions on our programs on topics including search strategies and academic writing skills. You will also be responsible for the selection and acquisition of library materials and contribute to the development and management of AIPM digital and print collections including responding to reference inquiries in person, electronically and by telephone.Additionally, you will provide research support to our faculty staff, across our suite of professional development programs and administrative support to the Education Services team on an as needs basis.Essential Requirements

Desirable RequirementsThe following skills and/or experience would be highly regarded:
  • Formal post graduate tertiary qualification from a recognised higher education provider.
  • Highly developed organisational skills especially in the area of quality, client focussed, open source research.
  • Knowledge of advanced search strategies for research databases, bibliographic databases and integrated library management systems.
  • Experience providing advice and instruction on using research tools effectively.
  • Experience and understanding of the teaching, learning and research environments within the higher education university sector and/or the role of a contemporary academic library.
  • Experience working within a team based environment to deliver strategic educational outcomes.
  • Ability to assist with content creation for educational and social media platforms.

  • National travel may be required.
  • This role is located on campus in Manly, Sydney; whilst, hybrid working options may be negotiated, there will be a times throughout the year the successful applicant will be required to be on campus.
