Job Category: Park OperationsJob Description:Job PurposeAn exciting opportunity for an experienced Operations Manager to join our growing team!The Operations Manager - Container Parks is responsible for overseeing the safe, efficient, and cost-effective day-to-day operations of container park facilities. This includes managing container movements, yard planning, equipment utilisation, and employee performance to ensure high service levels for internal and external customers.The role ensures compliance with safety, regulatory, and environmental requirements while driving continuous improvement in productivity and operational processes.Key AccountabilitiesOperationsMeet/exceed agreed productivity and operational performance targetsManage labour and equipment running costs within budgetEffectively communicate with Supervisors regarding resources to ensure that customer requests are prioritised appropriately to meet business needs and stakeholder expectationsEnsure responsible allocation of resources and management of leaveManage implementation of controls relevant to Park operations as per Traffic Management Plan requirementsAQIS & Depot LicensesEnsure all legislative and accreditation documentation is submitted in accordance with AQIS/depot license requirementsMaintain AQIS/licensing recordsCoordinate fumigation & tailgate inspectionsRemediate any license breaches/noticesPeople LeadershipAccountability and responsibility for the performance management of all direct reportsObserve team members to ensure that all are adequately trained and assessed as competent to safely perform their respective dutiesCoach, mentor and directly supervise employeesMaintain employee productivity to meet customer service level agreementsMaintain employee engagement and positive workplace culture that fosters great performanceSafetyEnsure compliance to Company Health Safety and Environment policies and procedures well as relevant Safety LegislationLead by example in the execution of safe work practices and ensure the continual identification and management of hazards to reduce accidents and injury.Ensure equipment needs and maintenance issues are resolved to ensure safety is not compromisedSite/Asset ManagementEnsure sound yard and asset maintenanceMaintain knowledge of and implementation of the Site Security Plan.Manage local damage claims in collaboration with other managersAct as key point of contact for all internal and external stakeholders regarding containers and equipmentCustomer ServiceDay to day management of customer's operational requests and allocate to the correct team where the request cannot be resolved initiallyExcellent customer service through deep understanding and knowledge of our customers' requirements and needsProactive and energetic attitude to deliver exceptional customer service through early planning prompt actions and clear communicationImprove response time to customer requirements.Qualifications, Skills and ExperienceThe successful candidate will possess the following:Minimum 5 years container operations supervisor/team leadership role10+ years' experience in empty container parksKnowledge of Container Park layout and optimisation/stack planningExtensive team leadership experience with demonstrated effectiveness in team engagement, cultural development and process improvementAbility to effectively liaise with shipping clients and customersKnowledge of WHS requirements and obligationsExperience with 1-StopSupporting equalityBy submitting your resume and application information, you authorize DP World to transmit and store your information in the world-wide recruitment database, and to circulate that information as necessary for the purpose of evaluating your qualification for this or other job vacancies.About DP WorldWith a dedicated, diverse and professional team of more than 111,000 employees from 159 nationalities, spanning 77 countries on six continents, DP World is pushing trade further and faster towards a seamless supply chain that's fit for the future.
