Rate: Competitive daily rate (negotiable based on experience)Experis is seeking a Senior MS Windows System Engineer to join a high-performing federal government team on a 12-month contract. This role is ideal for a seasoned engineer with strong expertise in Microsoft technologies and a passion for delivering reliable, scalable end user solutions.You'll be part of a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team focused on managing and enhancing desktop and mobile technologies, including Windows SOE, Microsoft Intune, Exchange, and enterprise collaboration tools.Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, maintain, and provide Level 3 support for:
- Windows SOE and corporate device configurations (desktop and iOS)
- Enterprise messaging and collaboration platforms
- Remote access solutions (VDI and VPN)
- Package and deploy applications across the enterprise
- Manage automated patching and update processes
- Provide expert technical advice and represent the team in ICT governance forums
- Collaborate with infrastructure, security, and application teams
- Develop and maintain technical documentation and SOPs
- Participate in planning and execution of upgrades, migrations, and new rollouts
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to continuous improvement
- Microsoft Windows, Exchange (Server & Online), Teams
- Microsoft 365 Apps for Enterprise
- Microsoft Intune, Group Policy
- PowerShell scripting and automation tools
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a geographically dispersed team
- Commitment to quality assurance and continuous improvement
- Experience mentoring and supporting team development
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Familiarity with APS6-level expectations under the Australian Public Service Commission's Integrated Leadership System (ILS)
