Senior MS Windows System Engineer - Baseline Cleared | Federal Government | 12-Month ContractLocation: Canberra, ACT (or remote with occasional travel)

Clearance: Baseline Security Clearance required
Contract Length: 12 months
Rate: Competitive daily rate (negotiable based on experience)Experis is seeking a Senior MS Windows System Engineer to join a high-performing federal government team on a 12-month contract. This role is ideal for a seasoned engineer with strong expertise in Microsoft technologies and a passion for delivering reliable, scalable end user solutions.You'll be part of a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team focused on managing and enhancing desktop and mobile technologies, including Windows SOE, Microsoft Intune, Exchange, and enterprise collaboration tools.Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, maintain, and provide Level 3 support for:
  • Windows SOE and corporate device configurations (desktop and iOS)
  • Enterprise messaging and collaboration platforms
  • Remote access solutions (VDI and VPN)
  • Package and deploy applications across the enterprise
  • Manage automated patching and update processes
  • Provide expert technical advice and represent the team in ICT governance forums
  • Collaborate with infrastructure, security, and application teams
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation and SOPs
  • Participate in planning and execution of upgrades, migrations, and new rollouts
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to continuous improvement

  • Microsoft Windows, Exchange (Server & Online), Teams
  • Microsoft 365 Apps for Enterprise
  • Microsoft Intune, Group Policy
  • PowerShell scripting and automation tools

  • Familiarity with APS6-level expectations under the Australian Public Service Commission's Integrated Leadership System (ILS)
