Reporting to the Workshop Supervisor, the Leading Hand Plant Mechanic will be responsible for leading a team to success in the New Machines Team to ensure delivery dates and deadlines are met. You will be working on Caterpillar building and construction equipment, performing a variety of tasks. These can include dealer provided option installations, maintenance and build ups to customers specification ensuring optimum safety and efficiency throughout the entire build.The Perth Branch Department at WesTrac specializes in providing cutting-edge machinery solutions tailored to the evolving needs of the mining and construction industry. Our team is dedicated to delivering innovative, reliable, and efficient Caterpillar equipment and service to enhance operational productivity and safety.Roster: 8 days on, 6 days off, (12 hours each day)What You'll Do:

Lead and motivate a team of up to 10 employees within the New Machines Team.
Work alongside team member to manage and complete high volume tasks efficiently
Promote, encourage and monitor safety to a high standard within the team

Skills & Experience:

Australian Recognised Trade Certificate (Heavy Vehicle Mechanic)
Ability to work well under pressure whilst maintaining high safety standards
CAT equipment experience is highly desirable
Team leadership experience with ability to lead from the front with Safety as this will be paramount
Strong understanding of KPI metrics from receiving a task to component dispatch
Ability to coach and mentor teams
