With our Cairns expansion underway, we are committed to showcasing authentic North & South Indian cuisine while offering best-in-class customer service, compliant operations, and growth opportunities. We are now hiring an experienced Restaurant Manager to lead our Cairns operations.Role Summary:To lead front-of-house and back-of-house teams with a strong focus on compliance, profitability, staff performance, customer experience, and overall brand standards.Key Responsibilities:Operational Oversight
- Manage end-to-end operations of the restaurant, including dine-in, takeaway & delivery
- Ensure service quality, hygiene, and compliance with Queensland Health food laws
- Oversee rostering, attendance, cash handling, and POS management (e.g. Square, Kounta)
- Hire, train, and lead FOH and kitchen teams in accordance with the Hospitality Award
- Ensure compliance with meal breaks, penalty rates, and lawful wage classifications
- Drive a culture of accountability, respect, and teamwork
- Monitor cost of goods, labour costs, wastage, and budgets
- Ensure correct processing of payroll hours under the Hospitality Award pay guide
- Manage petty cash, EFTPOS, register closures, and weekly reporting
- Ensure full compliance with Fair Work, WHS, liquor licence & anti-discrimination obligations
- Handle bookings, complaints, VIP arrangements, and group/event coordination
- Maintain review platforms (Google, UberEats, TripAdvisor) and guest loyalty
- Collaborate with Brisbane HQ to roll out seasonal offers and festival menus (e.g. Diwali, Biryani Nights)
- Manage local promotions, leaflet drops, social media posts, and sponsorships
- Experience in Indian or multicultural restaurants preferred
- Working knowledge of:
- Hospitality Award wage structures
- Food safety (HACCP & FSANZ)
- POS and booking software (Square, OpenTable, ResDiary)
- RSA (Responsible Service of Alcohol) and Food Safety certification desirable
- Professional English communication skills; Punjabi or Hindi a plus
