About the RoleAs a diesel fitter, you will be responsible for the inspection, maintenance, and repair of diesel engines and associated systems in heavy vehicles and equipment. Your role is crucial in ensuring plant, machinery, and fleet vehicles are serviced and repaired to the highest standards, supporting operational efficiency and safety.Key Responsibilities

Diagnose and troubleshoot faults in diesel engines and related systems using diagnostic tools and computer software.
Service and repair auxiliary systems such as cooling, exhaust, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
Carry out routine inspections, testing, and preventative maintenance to ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
Complete job cards, service records, and relevant documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organised workshop environment.
Support other team members and assist with workshop operations as required.

Skills and Experience

Diesel Mechanic Trade Certificate (Certificate III Engineering – Mechanical) or equivalent
Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
Good knowledge of workshop operations and maintenance systems
Computer literacy for completing documentation and using diagnostic software
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
