For over 65 years Chandler Macleod’s recruitment business has connected leading-edge projects and employers with outstanding business professionals.Our Federal Government client is seeking to engage multiple APS5/6 Grant Assessment Officers and Grant Management Officers to join our client based in Canberra. These roles a full time, temporary assignments starting ASAP until June 2026.As a Grant Assessment Officer, you'll play a critical role in processing funding application assessments during a peak period, ensuring high-quality decisions are made with attention to detail. You'll also be expected to assist with other work within the team and provide support to more complex issues as they arise.As a Grants Management Officer you'll be responsible for processing milestone payments, variations, and other project reporting for already-contracted projects, ensuring tasks are carried out with good attention to detail and effective stakeholder management.Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyse and assess project information against program guidelines and procedural documentation
  • Make decisions using good judgement, expertise, and knowledge under limited guidance
  • Prepare briefs, correspondence, and reports
  • Conduct risk assessments and risk management activities
  • Provide quality assurance of team work and assist in making recommendations to the program delegate
  • Identify project risks and mitigation strategies
  • Work with team leaders to resolve complex issues and find innovative solutions
  • Ensure appropriate records are maintained in accordance with the Department’s record keeping standards
About YouWe're looking for talented individuals with the following skills and experience:
  • Minimum of baseline security clearance
  • Grant/Project assessment and Grant/Project Delivery/Management experience
  • Ability to communicate effectively and sensitively with internal and external stakeholders
  • Proficiency in M365 Office Suite (incl. OneNote) and Sharepoint
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively and as part of a team
  • Critical thinking skills, including the ability to demonstrate good judgement working with limited or incomplete information
