Learn more about our in our .Project Overview:Bechtel Mining and Metals offers engineering, procurement, and construction services for customers in the mining sector across multiple commodities including Iron Ore, Bauxite, Alumina, Aluminium, Copper, Gold, Coal, Lithium and Rare Earths markets.Headquartered in Santiago, Chile, the M&M global business unit also has offices in Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide in Australia along with execution units in the United States, Peru, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, India and other project locations around the world.The Project is a greenfield mining, process, material handling and ship loading project with a focus on sustaining production, minimise environmental impacts, strengthen long-term relationships with neighbouring communities and foster local economic development.Job Summary:In this role, you will monitor and organize subcontractor planning, safety, quality, and technical activities on a complex project with multiple stakeholders’ involvement, through the coordination and instruction of subcontractor’s management staff. Your field supervision will help ensure operations are planned to coincide with overall established schedules and that work methods are planned and executed safely.Major Responsibilities:

Monitors and directs subcontractor activities, through coordination and instruction of subcontractors' management staff within the area of responsibility.
Role supports on large projects of high complexity with multiple stakeholders’ involvement.
Coordinate with existing operations and contractor to enable efficient marine and road logistics

Planning

Reviews and monitors subcontractor construction schedules, resource charts, and material and equipment requirements.
Reviews and approves where necessary, subcontractor construction methods, schedules, manning charts, and material and equipment requirements.
Leads the construction operations impact on external interfaces to ensure they coincide with the overall established schedules.

Safety / Quality

Monitors installation of materials and equipment to assure conformance with drawings, specifications, vendor, and other requirements
Implements and enforces policies, procedures and related work rules as established by field construction management.

Technical

Works with Construction Field Engineers, Foremen, and Craft Professionals, in interpreting Engineering design documents, vendor documents, and other technical documents
Coordinates engineering solutions with Subcontractors, and Foremen and Craft Professionals.
Coordinates with Design on constructability issues.

Education and Experience Requirements:

Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 10-13 years of relevant experience or 14-17 years of relevant work experience

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Safety programs/engineering systems, principles, and methodologies,
Australian safety laws/regulations and regulatory agencies’ regulatory requirements and responsibilities,
Industry standards/current practices for safety/health and building codes and standards
Best management practices for minimising potential safety/health risks during project execution.
Strong Leadership skills with the ability to lead and influence Project teams in the project Environmental, Safety, and Health (ESH) program, inclusive of technical and administrative aspects; compliance activities; and processes and plans associated with design, fabrication and construction of temporary construction villages and permanent buildings on mine sites.
