What You'll be Doing
Security staff work as part of a team, in collaboration with other staff, to assist with managing patients, to provide assistance to visitors, and to assist with protecting staff and securing the assets of South Western Sydney Local Health District.The emphasis of the role in NSW Health is on assisting with the early identification, prevention and management of incidents. The Security staff provide a safe environment for staff, patients and visitors according to work health and safety legislation.It is expected that security staff provide the highest possible standard of customer service and professionalism at all times.NOTE: Security staff, like other NSW Health staff, must contact the police if there is suspected criminal activity on or around a NSW Health premises.
Security staff must not place themselves, or be expected by others to place themselves, at unnecessary risk in carrying out their duties. Where there are concerns about public safety the police should be called.

  • Current NSW Security Licence in accordance with the NSW Security Industry 1997 Class 1A, First Aid Certification and an Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2). Those who hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment. Learner's licenses are not permitted.
