We are committed to producing accessible food, supporting communities, and delivering strong economic results, all while prioritising sustainability to ensure a prosperous, healthy planet for future generations.The role:We're looking for an Aquaculture Technician to join our team at our Proserpine Prawn Farm, located in the beautiful region between Airlie Beach and Bowen.This is a full-time contract position until end of March, working 12-hour shifts (6am-6pm) on a 2/2/3 roster (two days on, two days off, three days on). You'll play a key role in maintaining animal health and ensuring optimal conditions for prawn growth in our fast-paced aquaculture environment.Responsibilities:
  • Conduct daily pond monitoring, checking prawn health, water quality and aeration systems
  • Follow all safety protocols and procedures
  • Use digital systems (iPad) to record data and complete tasks
  • Support the team with general farm operations as required
Role requirements:
  • Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors in all conditions
  • Strong attention to detail and capable of identifying potential issues early
  • Reliable and safety-conscious
  • Basic technology skills - comfortable using iPads
  • Aquaculture/farming experience (advantageous but not essential)
  • Ability to work 6am-6pm on a 2/2/3 roster
  • Team player with positive attitude
  • Hold a driver’s licence and have reliable transport to site
  • Full working rights in Australia
