- Prepare correspondence, including assist with the preparation of third-party consultation and FOI decisions
- Undertake research, including searching Agency and legal databases
- Maintain and update the Agency’s FOI databases, including uploading, coding and exporting documents in Nuix Discover
- File documents in iManage in accordance with the FOI team naming convention
- Liaise with Agency staff and external stakeholders in relation to FOI requests
- With coaching and supervision, provide advice and guidance to FOI applicants, third parties and others in relation to FOI requests
- Conducting legal research, drafting legal notices and other legal correspondence
- Assisting decision makers to make FOI decisions including drafting associated documentation
- An organised approach to work including an ability to manage competing tasks, meet deadlines and work under pressure.
- Sound judgment and the ability to work independently and as part of a small team.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in both written and oral form, combined with good interpersonal skills and an ability to build productive working relationships.
- Self-motivation, attention to detail, accuracy and flexibility.
- An awareness of the Agency and its aims and functions and the ability to quickly attain knowledge of the Freedom of Information Act 1982 and its application.
