Company DescriptionHealthcare Australia (HCA) is a major provider of healthcare services across Australia, including allied health, primary care, recruitment, NDIS, care services, and training.In December 2024, we commenced providing health, mental health and wellbeing services across the onshore Immigration Detention network. Our team, which includes nurses, general practitioners, and allied health professionals, offer a wide range of healthcare services to detainees, including but not limited to health assessments, chronic disease management, health promotion and targeted population health education, medication, wound management, immunisation, and other primary health clinical interventions. HCA also introduced a Virtual Care Centre (VCC), a 24/7 service that provides remote healthcare through telehealth and video consultations, helping to enhance onsite care for detainees.Job Description

As our Accreditation Officer this newly created role will lead and manage the accreditation process in line with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) Standards for Immigration Detention Facilities (2nd Edition), ensuring that Healthcare Australia consistently meet the highest standards of quality and compliance.This role a fabulous diverse role – overseeing our accreditation readiness, leading evidence collection, and supporting a number of internal teams in meeting regulatory requirements. Additionally, you will act as the primary liaison with external stakeholders, including surveyors, RACGP, and QIP, to ensure full compliance and successful accreditation outcomes across Australian Immigration Detention Facilities. It’s not a role for the fainthearted You will also:
  • Coordinate mock accreditations, evidence collection, and readiness preparation tools.
  • Develop and implement strategies to maintain accreditation, promote use of the Quality Management System (Logiqc), and support continuous quality improvement in clinical practices and service delivery.
  • Provide training and develop educational materials to enhance staff understanding of accreditation standards. Foster a culture of ongoing learning and compliance awareness.
  • Maintain up-to-date records of accreditation activities, prepare reports for leadership and regulatory bodies, and ensure accessibility and accuracy of all documentation.
  • Participate in or lead clinical accreditation committees and contribute to broader governance functions such as policy development, incident review, and analysis as required.
QualificationsAbout you!This role suits a healthcare professional who knows a thing or two about accreditations – RACGP or other like accreditation standards.Naturally you will need to have strong analytical and problem-solving skills and be comfortable to work independently while managing competing priorities. Your credibility in building strong collaborative relationships with stakeholders is key.
