Westpac Commercial Banking is a significant contributor to the performance of Westpac’s Business Bank. We support commercial businesses around Australia through a network of professional bankers, specialists and support teams. A critical part of our success is our ability to target high growth opportunities and grow our capabilities in industry specialisation, working capital and specialist expertise in areas like wealth, financial markets, cash-flow and transactional banking.
The Senior Relationship Manager is responsible for managing and developing a portfolio of medium to large business connections with an average turnover between $5-100 million per annum, with a particular focus on winning new to bank customers. You will act as a trusted advisor to drive sustainable business growth over time and source new clients through marketing initiatives by establishing and maintaining a quality referral network. A critical part of the role will be actively referring customers to appropriate segments in order to ensure the needs of the customer and Westpac are consistently met.
You’ll work collaboratively with a network of specialists in areas such as wealth, financial markets, cash flow and transactional banking and you’ll also be responsible for:
- Initiating and facilitating outstanding interactions with existing and prospective customers
- Maintaining existing exposures and ongoing lending and credit requirements (periodic risk reviews)
- Focus on winning new to bank customers
- Maximising opportunities to earn all of our customers’ business, including lending, deposits, transactional banking solutions, investments and protection
- Developing and growing deep industry expertise and referral networks

What do I need?
We’ll be impressed by your proven Relationship Management experience and ability to grow and develop a portfolio of accounts. You’ll have a passion for delivering outstanding customer service and a proven track record in Business Development and acquiring new to bank business. It goes without saying you’ll also have strong credit skills, including cashflow lending, a well established network of referral sources, balance sheet analysis and deal structuring (Commercial / Corporate deals) would be ideal.
