Learn more .About the teamThe Independence, Conflicts and Ethics team forms part of Quality Management and assists BDO in ensuring that arrangements, relationships and services entered into by BDO and all firm personnel are appropriately considered from an ethics, independence and conflicts perspective in accordance with professional standards and BDO policies.We are a national team with offices right across the country. This role can be based in our Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth or Sydney office.Current opportunityWe are looking for a Manager for our Quality Management Function who will work within the Independence, Conflicts and Ethics (ICE) team. This is a newly created role in with a specific focus on the implementation of a new global conflict and independence system (system) in Australia, which will improve efficiencies across BDO globally.Role responsibilities:
  • Work closely with the Project Lead, Service Line Quality Leads and relevant stakeholders to define best practice and process to enable compliance with professional standards and BDO policies
  • Implement policies and procedures accompanied with learning resources
  • Liaise with other BDO firms to obtain and share best practice as the project progresses from one stage to the next
  • Set-up and manage a team responsible for executing the policies and procedures including upload and verification of data
  • Identify risks and troubleshoot issues related to the project, escalate issues promptly to relevant leaders
  • Attend and participate on global calls as the BDO Australia representative
  • Project management of the various components throughout the different stages of implementation.
What you’ll need to succeed
  • Experience in a similar role within a professional services firm would be highly regarded
  • Passionate about driving process change in an organisation within the confines of tools and systems
  • Demonstrated experience in leading process mapping discussions and onboarding stakeholder feedback to reach agreement in relation to draft policy and procedures
  • High level communication skills with a strong ability to problem solve through collaboration with Partners and senior staff
  • Proven experience in successfully managing, motivating & developing teams
  • Knowledge of and application of the APESB Code of Ethics for Professional Accountants (including independence Standards) is an advantage
