Exciting opportunity for a full time Eye Health Assistant in our Health Services Section, based in Tennant Creek. Join this community-based organisation and make a genuine difference to our community!About the Role...The Eye Health Assistant provides support the Registered Nurse - Eye Health and the Eye Health Program in general. You will be part of a high performing multi-disciplinary team, respecting Aboriginal values, beliefs, customs, language, and traditional practices.In this role, you will be responsible for:
  • Assist the Eye Heath Coordinator and other administrative staff in updating client contact records on patient postal/home location information.
  • Support the Eye Health Coordinator in managing and arranging travel for appointments with Eye Specialist and Optometrists
  • Work closely with all Aboriginal Liaison Officer to improve engagement and access by Aboriginal clients to health services and the attendance for necessary recalls
  • Assist clients with spectacle orders
  • Support the pickup and notification of patient appointments for Eye Health Clinics.
  • Write appointment letters to Anyinginyi clients and ensure that they are delivered on time
  • Willingness to work as part of the Public Health team, involve in other projects as necessary

  • Demonstrated high level organisational and communication skills and the ability to work to a deadline
  • Understanding of and commitment to client confidentiality.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision, maintain lines of accountability, set work priorities and meet deadlines
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills as demonstrated in a cross-cultural environment
  • Experience with Microsoft applications
  • Experience in client data entry and willingness to use Communicare patient record system
