Do you want to work towards a greener future?Due to the expansion of our Supplementary Cementitious range, we are looking for a highly experienced laboratory professional to fill our vacancy of Laboratory Technician in the central laboratory in Darra.Working on leading edge materials our laboratory performs research and testing for the construction industry. This is not a stagnant role and as a member of the team you will rotate through different stations to be developed in the full suite of testing and analysis for construction materials.About the role:Our laboratory performs research and testing for the construction industry. This can include QA testing, development materials, design and chemical analysis. Safety is a priority, and you would be expected to not only comply but contribute to a safe work environment. This is a great opportunity for someone who has a positive attitude, takes accountability for their work and likes to demonstrate initiative around quality and continuous improvement.As a Laboratory Technician, you will:
  • Comply with and participate in an environment that promotes safety
  • Carry out routine testing of cement, concrete and related products
  • Conduct non-routine testing of cement, concrete and related products
  • Calibration and maintenance of equipment
  • Housekeeping within the laboratory
  • Conduct analysis as part of investigations
  • Interpret data generated and analyse and solve technical problems in conjunction with Team Leaders
About you:To be considered for this role, you will have:
  • Cert IV in Laboratory Techniques or other related discipline
  • Proven success in a Laboratory role within a heavy industrial, construction, manufacturing or mining environment.
  • Ability to analyse and solve technical problems and interpret data
  • Previous experience in a construction laboratory would be advantageous
  • An understanding of laboratory instrumentation will be highly regarded
  • Good level of computer literacy, i.e. Microsoft Office Suite
