AUSTRALIAN CITIZENSHIP REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION: YesRELOCATION ASSISTANCE: No relocation assistance availableCLEARANCE TYPE: AU- Secret (NV1)TRAVEL: Yes, 10% of the TimeDescriptionYour Role:As a Senior Avionics Engineer, you will provide Aerospace related design, analysis and other technical support services, within your technical discipline and in accordance with the Engineering Management System and applicable regulatory requirementsYou will also have accountability for:Conducting independent checks of E&TS documentation.Reviewing and approving consumption of repairs, modifications, and instructions, within your technical discipline and delegated level of Engineering Authority.Assessing issues, occurrences, and incoming technical information in accordance with NGA processes. This includes implementation plans, risks and Configuration, Role & Environment (CRE) impacts and mitigations.The provision of E&TS input to maintaining fleet configurations, technical and operational publications.Contributing to System Safety Engineering on all aspects of emerging System Safety issues and ensure all risks are communicated and recordedAssisting in communications to operator representatives, relevant matters related to airworthiness, safety and operations.Managing the delegated scope of E&TS workflow and tasks, as assigned.Providing technical guidance and support to leaders in managing and executing customer requirements and satisfying contractual and regulatory obligations.Investigating, reporting and communicating compliance issues to the E&TS leadership as appropriate.Supporting the development of improvement strategies and continuous improvement plans for the Engineering Management System.Mentoring and coaching of personnel within the E&TS capability.Attending all mandatory training and maintaining a Continuing Professional Development Log.Complying with NGA’s policies and procedures.Driving an all-inclusive, positive and progressive workplace culture through instilling the NGA values, with a focus on ‘Leadership’ and ‘People’.About You:Bachelor of Engineering (Aeronautical / Aerospace / Mechanical / Electrical / Avionics / Mechatronics) or Advanced Engineering / Technical / Management Degree or Engineers Australia recognised equivalentAbility to obtain Registered Professional Engineer Queensland (RPEQ) or equivalent state-based engineering registrationAbility to obtain Chartered status through Engineers AustraliaCapable of attaining or currently hold an Australian Defence Security ClearanceDemonstrated experience as a Professional Engineer or Technician within the aviation industry or demonstrated experience managing the continuing airworthiness of an aircraft typeAbility to obtain Engineering Authority X Experience in using document/configuration management and project management toolsExcellent communication and relationship management skillsDemonstrated performance, people leadership and customer interface skills/experienceKnowledge of configuration management, airworthiness regulation, and certification concepts utilised by ADF and/or civil operatorsDirect technical experience in an aircraft related Through Life Support programPrevious experience with Boeing, Airbus or other FAR/JAR 25 type aircraft Experience in mentoring and coaching technical staffA comprehensive knowledge of working within ISO 9001 standards frameworkCommercial / business management acumenWhat we Offer:We have built our benefits to help you define your possible.18 weeks paid parental leaveFlexible Working Options including - Hybrid Working, 9-day Fortnights, Volunteer leave, Varying start and Finish times to suit your family needs.2 Weeks Paid Reservist leaveHealth, Wellbeing and Generous Employee discount programsAdditional purchased annual and salary packaging optionOngoing career progression opportunities- leadership development, education support, ongoing career growth through internal movementWho we are:At Northrop Grumman Australia, we have been defining possible for the ADF for over 20 years.
