- Flood Modelling to inform flood risk and emergency management and support major developments across Australia for some of Australia's biggest businesses
- Flood Assessments for Major Linear Infrastructure Projects
- Conduct flood risk assessments, including hydrological and hydraulic modelling, floodplain mapping, and analysis of flood impacts
- Perform detailed investigations of flood events, assess flood mitigation measures, and provide recommendations for flood risk reduction strategies
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to develop flood management plans and policies, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards
- Utilize advanced software and tools for flood modelling, data analysis, and visualization to support decision-making processes
- Participation in meaningful consultation with flood-affected communities across Australia
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends, research, and advancements in flood engineering, and apply innovative approaches to enhance flood resilience
- Support with Project Manager and project delivery responsibilities
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
- 0-5 years of professional experience in flood engineering, flood modelling, floodplain management, or a similar role. Role offered will be based on experience level.
- Experience in hydrological and hydraulic modelling software (e.g., TUFLOW), GIS tools (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS), and other relevant software applications.
- Knowledge of flood risk assessment methodologies, floodplain zoning, flood management strategies, and relevant legislation and regulations.
- Experience in conducting flood investigations, analysing flood data, and interpreting flood modelling results.
- Interest in wider field of water resources including hydrogeology and water efficiency;
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and develop innovative solutions to complex flood-related challenges.
- Effective communication skills to liaise with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory agencies, and to present technical information in a clear and concise manner.
- Good organisational skills, with the ability to contribute to multiple projects simultaneously and deliver high-quality work within deadlines.
