Mount Isa, QLDAre you a passionate leader who thrives on making a difference in the lives of young people? We're seeking a skilled and motivated Team Leader to oversee a dynamic learning program in Mount Isa, designed to re-engage young people aged 10-16 who have been involved in the youth justice system and are disengaged from mainstream schooling. *This role offers relocation assistance and up to 4 weeks of shared accommodation to help the successful applicant transition into the community.About the Program
This innovative, holistic program brings together a dedicated team of educators, youth workers, and family support specialists to deliver small-group learning and wraparound support. Each class supports just 10 young people, ensuring personalised attention and strong pathways back into education, training, or employment.The Role
As Team Leader, you'll:
  • Lead and develop a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, trauma-informed services.
  • Ensure program outcomes meet contractual and stakeholder expectations.
  • Build strong relationships with local communities, services, and stakeholders.
  • Manage operational requirements, including rostering, compliance, and reporting.
  • Champion the rights, voices, and wellbeing of young people in the program.
About You
You're an experienced leader with a background in youth work, education, or allied fields, and you have:
  • Demonstrated experience working with young people in contact with the youth justice system, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
  • Ensure compliance with service agreements, policies, procedures and relevant legislation
  • Proven ability to manage and develop high-performing teams.
  • Strong understanding of child protection, safeguarding, and relevant legislation.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement skills and a collaborative leadership style.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in behavioural sciences, education, or related discipline.
