Senior Protected Data Store Test Analyst / Test Lead | Large Federal Government initiative
Role can be based in Melbourne, Canberra or Brisbane | Need to have either a Baseline or NV1 Clearance
$115-135/hour | 10 + 12 month long term contract | Apply now

As the highly skilled and experienced Senior Test Analyst/Test Lead you will be working on the testing efforts for cloud-based Protective Data Storage (PDS) solution integrated with an Air Traffic Management (ATM) system. This is hands-on role with some test management responsibilities. This role is critical to ensuring the security, and performance of data storage and retrieval processes within a highly regulated aviation environment.Key duties and responsibilitiesKey Responsibilities:

Test Planning & management

Develop comprehensive test plans tailored to cloud-based data storage and aviation system integration.
Define the defect management plan and manage the triage activities for the project.

Test Design & Execution

Analyse requirements to ensure adequate test coverage and identify potential gaps.
Design and execute system, integration, and end-to-end testing.
Validate cloud services used in the PDS solution, including storage, encryption, access control, and audit logging.
Coordinate with project teams to test data flow and integration between the PDS and ATM systems.

Compliance & Safety

Ensure testing aligns with aviation safety standards (e.g., ICAO, CASA regulations) and data protection requirements.
Conduct risk-based testing and support safety assurance activities.

Collaboration & Reporting

Work closely with developers, cloud architects, system engineers, and aviation domain experts.
Document test results, defects, and provide actionable insights to improve system quality.
Coordinate with other teams for defect, environment, and data management
Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to sprint planning and retrospectives.

Required Skills & Experience:

5+ years of experience in software testing, including at least 1 year in cloud-based environments preferably AWS.
Experience with Atlassian tools (JIRA/XRAY).
Strong understanding of cloud (AWS) services, security, and data lifecycle management.
Experience testing data rules engines and complex system integrations.
Experience with test automation tools.
Familiarity with aviation standards and ATM systems is highly desirable.
Excellent analytical, communication, and documentation skills.
Eligibility for security clearance.

Desirable Qualifications:

ISTQB Advanced Level Test Analyst Certification.
Cloud certification (e.g., Cloud Solutions Architect or DevOps Engineer).
Experience with aviation-grade data integrity and redundancy mechanisms.
