It works alongside national and international organisations, contributing to global research, promoting life-long learning, and developing and hosting world-class exhibitions.About the roleThe Senior Preparator is responsible for the preparation of a full range of biological materials for exhibition, installation of exhibits, specimens, and dioramas, technical problem solving, the provision of training for junior staff, and provision of technical support for other departments.This position is also responsible for the Preparatory workshop area including Occupational Health and Safety requirements, and maintenance of all records.About youThe successful applicant will be expected to:

- Have relevant taxidermy and model-making experience.
- A current comprehensive CV including the contact details of two referees.
- A statement of no more than three (3) A4 pages addressing all the essential work-related requirements. Please provide relevant examples to support your claims.
- A highlight portfolio showcasing no more than six (6) examples (in PDF format) to support your written responses and demonstrate your approach and experience. This could include photographs of the development process and finished works.
- To be eligible for appointment, applicants must have a valid Work Visa (for fixed term appointments), or be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or have a visa to live and work indefinitely in Australia (for permanent appointments) at the time of application.
- A current (within six (6) months) National Police Clearance Certificatewill be required prior to commencement of employment, as per the Department’s Police Record Screening Policy.
- Working outside normal business hours may be required at times.
- May be required to work at different locations within the metropolitan area, and regional travel on occasion.
