An exciting opportunity has become available for a Senior Electrical Engineer to join the Remote Area Energy Supply (RAES) team within the Department for Energy and Mining (DEM).As Senior Electrical Engineer, you will join the team in the development, delivery, and optimisation of electrical infrastructure projects that support safe, reliable and sustainable electricity generation and distribution in South Australia’s most remote communities. This includes acting as a technical authority on hybrid renewable and diesel power systems, providing high-level advice, and overseeing complex projects to ensure compliance with legislative, regulatory and efficiency objectives.About us:

- Expert knowledge of high-voltage and low-voltage distribution networks, switchgear, earthing and protection systems, PLC/RTU architectures, communications networks, and SCADA systems.
- Extensive experience in the delivery and/or operation of renewable hybrid power stations, including providing strategic technical advice to stakeholders.
- Proven ability to think strategically and creatively, analyse complex problems and provide advice at both strategic and operational levels.
- Highly developed communication and stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to liaise, influence, and negotiate effectively.
Essential: Degree in Electrical, Electromechanical, or Electric Power Engineering providing eligibility for graduate membership as a Professional Engineer of the Institution of Engineers, Australia.
Desirable: Postgraduate qualifications in a relevant field such as sustainable development, renewables, or another engineering discipline.Remuneration:
PO4 - $110,696 - $120,470 + superannuation
Full-time role, working 37.5 hours per weekSpecial Conditions:
- This is a Term Contract of 12 months - opportunity for potential ongoing appointment.
- Some out of hours work will be required.
- Domestic travel may be required as part of this role.
- This position is classified as a designated position and as such, appointment to this role will be subject to a satisfactory National Police Clearance screening check.
