Our twofold aim in the St George Hospital Pharmacy Department is to "Eliminate Harm, Improve Care". This key leadership role will collaborate with Emergency and Critical Care Stakeholders and the St George Hospital Pharmacy Department Leadership team to deliver the continuous improvement and development of our team and services.Where you'll be working
St George Hospital is a 600-bed Tertiary Referral Hospital in Kogarah, NSW. SESLHD is committed to enabling our community to be healthy and well, and to providing the best possible compassionate care when people need it.The Team Leader Pharmacist, Emergency and Critical Care, is a leadership and clinical role.The purpose of the role is to lead and coordinate a team delivering comprehensive pharmacy services across St George Hospital and affiliated services for the defined practice area of Emergency and Critical Care (for example, but not limited to the Emergency Department, Short Stay Unit, Intensive Care Services and Trauma).The role will work collaboratively at both the site/service level and across the district to maintain leadership and efficient performance of the provision of pharmacy services.All Team Leader Pharmacist roles are integral members of the St George Hospital pharmacy leadership team to provide strategic, clinical and operational objectives for the pharmacy service. The position will have joint responsibility with other Team Leader and Lead Pharmacist positions, to maintain leadership, management and continuity of service provision of the pharmacy service across all operational hours.
  • Registered as a practicing pharmacist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) with post registration clinical or management/leadership qualifications or equivalent skills/experience.
  • Significant experience and a demonstrated high level of competence, expertise, skill and application of clinical judgment in the provision of Emergency and Critical Care clinical pharmacy services.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including demonstrated ability to develop high quality written guidelines, procedures, educational, research or business materials.
  • Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills, including communication, negotiation, team building, influencing, conflict resolution and the building of a positive workplace culture.
  • Proven ability and commitment to effectively role model, champion and promote teamwork and demonstrated management and development of staff.
  • Demonstrated skills and experience in managing a complex workload, problem solving and development and implementation of initiatives.
  • Demonstrated commitment to professional development.
