Find out more about this fantastic opportunity with Thales Australia!Find out more about Thales Australia:About the role:This role is located at the Joint Helicopter School (JHS), HMAS Albatross, Nowra, Australia. Nowra is located on the South Coast of NSW, 2 hours south of the Sydney and home to the Royal Australian Navy’s ‘Fleet Air Arm’ Naval Air Squadrons.The role involves the delivery of introductory level training to the Royal Australian Navy’s (RAN) future Aircrew officers. Instruction is primarily aimed at the Observer (Aviation Warfare Officers - AvWO) category. Additional assistance may also be required in the training of Navy Pilot’s, Remote Pilot Warfare Officers (RPWO) and Sensor Operator (SENSO/ACMN) students, in the fundamentals of Mission Sensors and Aviation Maritime Warfare roles.The successful candidate for this role will need to be a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Mission Systems and proficient to instruct tactical procedures, navigation principles and basic Search and Rescue (SAR) techniques.Training will utilise a combination of CBT, Tactical Part Task Trainers and classroom events in a blended learning environment. Instruction within this role is in a ground-based training environment, catering to the veteran community which may have a broad range of diverse personal circumstances.Click on this link to learn more about relocating to Australia:Roles & Responsibilities:This position will involve the direct engagement and Instruction of ab-initio students, Boeing Defence Australia (BDA), Navy and Army Instructors, as well as other civilian staff within the Joint Helicopter School.Additional to your primary instructional role, you will also be assisting with the following tasks;Reviewing curriculum and providing recommendations for training efficiency improvements,Updating of instructor guides, student guides, synthetic simulation scenarios and training reference materials under the guidelines of current training directives.Qualifications and Skills:●You will be a Qualified Observer Instructor (QOI) or be able to demonstrate that you have/hold a recommendation to instruct,●Contemporary knowledge of Military Airborne and Maritime platforms.Desirable Qualifications and Skills:●Work experience as a military flying training instructor on Naval rotary wing platforms,●Anti-Sub Surface Warfare (ASW) experience,●ASW dipping sonar experience,●Demonstrated experience in at least one major naval surface unit as embarked aircrew for an overseas military deployment or exercise,●Ability to obtain an Australian Base-level Security Clearance.What you’ll getSalary Circa – GBP 85K base + (A$165K base +) - (Based on Qualifications and Skill)Generous remuneration package, including, family medical health insurance, SuperannuationThales will provide relocation support for the successful candidate + family4 Weeks annual paid leave (with the ability to purchase additional annual leave)Modernised Paid Parental leaveGym membership discount, novated leases, discounted travel etcAdditional information:Only candidates who meet or exceed the listed requirements will be considered.Note.
