About the RoleNLC is looking to recruit for the Ranger Coordinator located in Garngi. The position is responsible for working closely with CFC Program staff, to ensure that the integration of Traditional Owner insights and WH&S standards are at the forefront of all land and sea management activities. Based at the Garngi Ranger Station this role leads and supervises the Garngi Ranger team and to implement their on-country work program and will be required to conduct in-depth consultations with Traditional Owners (TOs) to understand and prioritise their interests and goals for the Garngi work area and is also responsible for facilitating and coordinating the Garngi Ranger Group.This Coordinator role is hands on and expected to lead, coordinate and monitor the Ranger groups operational service outcomes and performance in accordance with Garngi ranger operational plans and NLC requirements. It also has a diverse array of key responsibilities and accountabilities across other key function such as:
  • Stakeholder Relationships
  • Staff Management
  • Work Health and Safety
What You Will Bring:You will bring strong negotiation and stakeholder engagement skills, coupled with high-level interpersonal and cross-cultural communication abilities. Your problem-solving expertise, experience in dispute resolution, and community liaison will be essential, along with your demonstrated experience in asset management and basic maintenance of equipment.In addition to this, you will have:
  • Minimum Certificate IV in Conservation and Land Management) or another a relevant field or extensive relevant and equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of two (2) years relevant supervisory experience leading a team.
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal land and sea management issues, and opportunities and constraints affecting Aboriginal people’s involvement.
  • Previous experience in undertaking TO consultations in the development of land and sea management projects, ideally with Aboriginal people.
  • Current C Class Drivers Licence

  • District allowance of up to $9,750 per annum for individuals with dependents and $6,036 without dependents.
  • 5 weeks annual leave, leaving loading, 18 days personal leave;

  • Upon completion of 12 months of service an Annual airfare with a net (in hand) value of $3,177.64
