The Nepean Campus has recently experienced tremendous growth and aims to support communities within and outside of Sydney's western suburbs, providing world-class clinical facilities, services, and care.We are seeking a committed and vigilant Security Officer to join the Safe Assessment Unit, a specialised area within the Emergency Department designed to support patients presenting with behavioural disturbances related to alcohol and drugs. This unit provides a safe, low stimulus environment where vulnerable individuals can be admitted, assessed, and treated by a multidisciplinary team, helping to reduce pressure on the broader emergency department.This role is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for staff, patients, and visitors through regular patrols, managing access to the facility, responding to incidents, and supporting the management of aggressive or challenging behaviours. - Effective experience working in a similar role
- Demonstrated experience in responding to a variety of changing and challenging situations
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with all levels of managers, staff and a diverse range of patients and members of the public
- Must be able to effectively work independently and as part of a multidiscplinary team
- Practical knowledge of security equipment including CCTV operations and access control systems
- Capability and availability to participate in a 24 hour/seven-day rotating roster
