
Field Application Scientist

- Provide customers with technical expertise, product information and support in the areas of precision medicine and reproductive health.
- Design and conduct experiments to initiate and validate the use of Thermo Fisher Scientific systems in customer’s laboratories.
- Train clinical laboratory scientists on the use and maintenance of Thermo Fisher Scientific systems and software.
- Prepare presentations and run seminars and workshops to educate customers and drive revenue growth.
- Help the sales team reach the order plan by planning and driving post-sales customer support activities tailored to the product line.
- Resolve customer queries through remote or onsite troubleshooting.
- Work as part of a cross-functional team to resolve customer issues without delay.
- Play a major role in introducing and supporting new products and applications.
- As a subject matter expert, continuously update your scientific knowledge for support of customers and internal teams.
- Bachelor of Science or higher education.
- Experience with reproductive health and/or precision medicine testing.
- Experience training clinical laboratory staff on the use of scientific equipment.
- Excellent understanding of clinical genomics.
- Excellent understanding of genomic databases and their annotations (GenBank, RefSeq, ENSEMBL, dbSNP)
- Demonstrated computer and data analysis skills, ability to analyze complex data sets.

- Ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external partners.
- Ability to work well as part of a cross-functional team with minimal supervision.
- Excellent time management skills, able to manage conflicting priorities and ensure deliverables are met.
