Take on big challenges and grow, through mentorship, collaboration and empowerment.Thiess is the place to make things happen.About the roleAs our Health, Safety & Training Manager, based on-site at our Olive Downs Complex project in Moranbah Pembroke Resource's new autonomous mine in the Bowen Basin, you will lead safety strategies and initiatives that foster and maintain a culture of continuous improvement in safety practices.Reporting to the Project Manager and as a key member of the site's senior leadership team, your primary responsibilities include:

Influence and provide support to your peers in order to achieve our vision of every safe every day.
Your 'hands on' approach, clear focus and effective leadership will contribute to the implementation of project safety management plans
Motivate people to ensure ownership of healthy & safety across all levels of the project as well as to develop and ensure the effectiveness of the health & safety system.
Oversee a team of Health, Safety and Training professionals ensuring work is delivered to a high standard, and in line with legislation.
Lead the safety culture on site to ensure the safety of all persons on site
Manage Projects and budgets to deadlines

About You

A minimum of a diploma in OHS with Tertiary qualifications in safety or a similar field is highly regarded
At least five years' experience in a similar role with extensive experience in an operational mining environment
Extensive experience working with workers' compensation, risk management and incident investigations
Ability to effectively establish and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Ability to influence and implement strategic and cultural change
Have outstanding skills with the Microsoft suite, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
