
Cement Tanker Allocator

- Liaise extensively with customers to receive and review cement delivery orders, allocate A-Double, B-Double and Semi trucks based on delivery locations and available driver resources
- Coordinate the transportation of products required for cement production - such as flyash, slag and gypsum.
- Manage allocation of drivers to ensure optimisation of delivery routes with a view to reducing costs associated with delivery, and ensure driver fatigue management protocols are adhered to
- Collaborate with production teams to ensure sufficient load and supply is available for all scheduled deliveries
- Manage customer expectations by communicating delivery schedules as well as any unforeseen delays to minimise the impact on the customer
- Monitor and report on offsite warehouse stocks of bagged products at the various distribution centres
- To be successful in this role you will possess:
- Proven exceptional organisational skills, the ability to prioritise tasks and rapidly adapt in an ever-changing environment
- Proven excellent communication and interpersonal skills to ensure that relationships are maintained with internal and external customers
- Strong problem-solving skills to ensure that day to day logistics is managed effectively
- Knowledge of cement industry operations and transport requirements would be advantageous
- Statement of Attainment in Implementation or Application of Fatigue Management Strategies; and/or previous extensive experience in allocations / logistics would be highly regarded
