- Horse Trainer/Foreperson
- Applicants for the position should be able educate young horses and supervise all associated activities in the horse training regime, including veterinary care, vet liaison, transport of horses and activities with support services, such as the farriers and dentists;
- Supervise staff and set rosters; Advise trainer on factors affecting horses and their education;
- Supervise horse feeding program to ensure optimum fitness and performance and ensuring supplies are ordered and maintained as well as ensure staff train horses in line with training plans
- Knowledge and experience of horse training and handling methods specific to thoroughbred racing
- Proven ability to train, ride and educate young horses
- Ability to assist with starting your horses
- Oral and written communication skills of a level to take instruction and provide information
- Ability to work in a team and independently (or proven management experience if the position is for a foreperson role)
- Knowledge of safe operation of all equipment and use of personal protective equipment
- Sound knowledge of health and safety obligations and demonstrated skills in safe operation of equipment relevant to the training and preparation of racehorses
- International experience
- A Certificate III or equivalent international qualification
