In this role you will work manage 12,000 square meter warehouse. Managing a team of 5 direct supervisory reports and an overall team of 30+ staff.
This site is currently transitioning from a pick to paper format to RF Picking and you will be involved in this implementation.Your duties will include:
- Oversee the end-to-end management of receipt, storage, picking, and dispatch operations across NSW, ensuring seamless distribution to local customers and to other states
- Drive safety performance by achieving goals aligned with the Site Safety Plan and responding to real-time safety needs.
- Analyse budgets, resource plans, and capital strategies, along with weekly KPI reporting and analysis to maintain efficient, cost-effective operations.
- Lead initiatives focused on cost containment, profit maximization, and meeting budget and customer objectives.
- Allocate warehouse resources effectively to optimise productivity while meeting or exceeding customer service benchmarks.
- Manage transport and freight schedules
- Uphold and improve warehouse safety and compliance through effective Work Health & Safety (WH&S) practices.
- Proactively manage labour, material, transportation, and container costs to enhance overall operational efficiency.
- Supervise receiving and dispatch procedures, ensuring that high-performance standards are consistently achieved.
- Collaboratively engage with internal departments to ensure stock availability for dispatch, thus supporting seamless operational flow.
- Establish strong communication channels with customers to deliver reliable service while ensuring accurate order fulfillment through supplier engagement.
- Execute effective inventory management strategies, including accurate location maintenance, stock transfers, and hired pallet control.
- Conduct regular cycle counts and analysis of inventory levels on a monthly and weekly basis to ensure accuracy and operational efficiency.
- Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) that guide daily activities and promote best practices within the warehouse.
- Ensure the safe and efficient loading and unloading of B-double trucks and containers.
- Supporting the rollout of a new Warehouse Management System (WMS) and driving positive change within the team
- Getting hands-on as required – valid Forklift Licence is essential
- Completing general warehouse duties and ensuring best practices are followed
- Using RF scanners and WMS for efficient stock handling and tracking
- Communicating professionally via email and in person with team members and partners

To be successful in obtaining this role you will have the following experience:
- Tertiary qualifications or study in supply management, operations or similar would be highly regarded
- Demonstrated Experience managing a warehouse / Distribution centre in the 3PL / logistics industry
- Strong expertise in Chain of Responsibility (CoR) - ensuring strict compliance, safety, and accountability across all logistics operations.
- An understanding of local and interstate transport scheduling
- Have an understanding of imported goods, Inbound container bookings and working with external suppliers
- Strong leadership with a demonstrated ability to develop and coach teams
- Strategic and hands-on leadership, with a track record of successfully managing teams, optimizing workflows, and driving efficiency.
- Proven ability to provide proactive, forward-thinking leadership with a week-to-week focus on continuous improvement
- Have excellent time management, communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience in analytical reporting
- Have a current valid NSW Forklift license
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment
