UGL is an employer with a difference, jump on board and experience our incredible journeyAbout the roleThe role of the Senior Engineering Manager – Rail Systems is to be responsible for the management of signalling design, program and financials for the delivery of various packages as part of the overall engineering teamsAbout the role
  • Manage the inputs for the production of project program, Quality Plan, Project Document Management Plan (PDMP) and Design Management documentation.
  • Interface and resolve high level inter-disciplinary engineering co-ordination issues to ensure best for Project approach is maintained (advanced signalling).
  • Monitor and control overall design costs to agreed budget and liaise with wider team to enable the management of design change.
  • Ensure that all necessary reviews, verifications and validations are planned and conducted, with required input/ governance from the wider project team.
  • Facilitate project Design Reviews, Safety In Design Reviews, Risk Reviews to meet Project specific requirements.

  • Degree qualification to Bachelor status in Electrical Engineering.
  • At least 15 years’ cumulative engineering experience; 10 years’ experience in Rail Projects
  • QR Competencies and RPEQ Status
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently to organise and prioritise demands, handle multiple complex tasks and simultaneously, set and meet deadlines and follow-through within a fast-paced environment with multiple and competing demands
  • Strong communication skills (oral & written) including strong negotiation and influencing skills and the ability to establish effective working relationships with a variety of people at different levels both internally and externally.
  • Australian Drivers License
