About the Role
Seeking an experienced and driven Maintenance Mechanical Engineer to join our client's maintenance team located in Port Pirie. This role is critical in supporting maintenance and operations by providing day-to-day technical advice, equipment troubleshooting, and engineering solutions that enhance plant reliability and ensure compliance with engineering and regulatory standards.About You
You are a practical, solutions-focused Mechanical Engineer who thrives in a dynamic industrial setting. You understand the importance of maintaining safe, compliant, and efficient plant operations and can effectively communicate with internal teams and external contractors alike.Duties include but are not limited to:
  • Provide technical support for the mechanical maintenance team
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues and implement sustainable solutions
  • Develop scopes of work and liaise with suppliers for services and materials
  • Conduct and report on plant inspections, ensuring corrective actions are identified
  • Contribute to safety, health, and environmental compliance across all projects
  • Lead or support HAZOP, FMEA, and other engineering risk assessments
  • Support after-hours call-out and help chain as needed
  • Work closely with stakeholders on change control, risk assessment, and project implementation
Successful candidates will possess the following:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering (essential)
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a mechanical engineering or similar role (desirable)
  • Experience in mining, smelting, or resource industries (desirable)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (essential)
  • SAP experience (desirable)
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
