This role is ideal for a reliable and skilled professional who is committed to clinical excellence and supporting the development of others.In this position, you will perform complex ultrasound procedures, ensure efficient patient scheduling and workflow, and contribute to the training of sonographers and students within a quality and safety framework. You'll collaborate with the Chief Sonographer and specialist staff to deliver accurate diagnostic information that supports timely medical decision-making.Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting a wide range of ultrasound examinations with a focus on accuracy and patient comfort
- Supporting medical staff with timely diagnostic reporting for routine and emergency cases
- Providing mentorship and training for trainee sonographers
- Performing and overseeing quality assurance checks on ultrasound equipment
- Managing imaging workflows, including RIS and PACS documentation
- Participating in the development of clinical protocols and continuous improvement initiatives
- Maintaining a clean, well-stocked work environment and reporting equipment issues promptly
- Staying current with advancements in ultrasound techniques and technology
To be considered for this position, please ensure you address the below questions as thoroughly as possible. View our for information on how to respond to criteria and . * Degree of Applied Science in Medical Radiation Science (Radiography or Nuclear Medicine) or equivalent.
- Current registration with Australian Health Professionals Registration Authority (AHPRA) as a Radiographer or Nuclear Medicine Scientist and hold a current NSW EPA Radiation license.
- Appropriate qualification of Postgraduate Study in Medical Sonography and valid Ultrasound accreditation from ASAR. Eligible for membership with either of the following ASA/ASUM/ASMIRT.
- Demonstrated knowledge, experience and competence in ultrasound and previous experience in either radiography or nuclear medicine in a medical imaging clinical setting.
- Demonstrated high level interpersonal communication skills applied to a patient environment, as well as proven effective report writing skills.
- Evidence of capacity to prioritise workload and achieve outcomes.
- Demonstrated application of analysis and problem-solving skills to a range of clinical situations to develop effective solutions.
- Demonstrated application of professional and ethical boundaries when working with complex situations as-part of a multi-disciplinary team.
