Project/Program ManagerContract: until Jun 2026.Rate: up to $92 phMy client is looking for a highly skilled Project/Program Manager to lead a significant business transformation initiative that will reshape how a major public sector organisation manages its infrastructure contractors.This isn't a typical project management role—it's an opportunity to leave a lasting impact on a multi-billion dollar portfolio that supports essential public services.The Program: What You'll Be Part OfA large public sector organisation is making a significant, multi-year investment in its educational infrastructure. As part of this effort, a new Contractor Management Improvement (CMI) Program has been established to enhance how the organisation manages contractors for building, construction, and maintenance services. This is a critical business transformation program focused on improving safety, mitigating risks, and ensuring high-quality outcomes.As the Program Manager, you'll be an essential part of the core program team, reporting directly to the CMI Program Director. You will provide crucial expertise in business improvement, contract management, and program delivery. Your mission will be to drive the analysis, reform, and stakeholder engagement required to deliver the first phase of this ambitious program.Your Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the Charge: You'll analyse current contractor management practices to identify risks, inefficiencies, and opportunities for meaningful reform.
  • Design the Future: Collaborate on designing a new, fit-for-purpose model that strengthens safety, performance, and risk management.
  • Drive Buy-In: Engage with diverse operational and leadership teams to shape practical reforms and gain buy-in for new ways of working.
  • Provide Expert Advice: Deliver authoritative advice to executives and delivery partners through workshops, briefings, and targeted engagement.
  • Measure and Improve: Monitor program progress and outcomes, using feedback and metrics to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Build Relationships: Work collaboratively with all stakeholders, building strong relationships to achieve program objectives.
