We offer a fabulous working culture in a stunning new office.What we doDue to continued business growth and project wins the SMEC Darwin team has grown considerably over the past 3 years. We have several opportunities for Civil Engineers - Water Infrastructure (2 - 10 years' experience), to initially work on a significant infrastructure project that will provide a long-term solution to supply more water to the Darwin region, the Adelaide River Off Stream Water Storage (AROWS) project.For this project, we are seeking water infrastructure engineers with experience in pipeline design, pump station design or river intake design. You will work collaboratively with the Civil and Auxiliary project lead to progress the project to concept design.You would play a key role in:
  • Technical delivery, project management and client relationship management across Water Infrastructure projects
  • Strong design experience for water infrastructure projects
  • Contributing to bid preparation and providing technical input across all disciplines
  • Ensuring analysis and design tasks undertaken meet appropriate technical standards and the requirements of the client and SMEC
  • Collaborate with appropriate team members, contributors and stakeholders to maintain quality, timeliness and co-ordination of project deliverables
  • Contribute to the commercial success of projects and the team
  • Apply project management principles in carrying out assigned tasks and accomplish project deliverables to the required standard and in a timely manner
With a track record of achievement in a similar role, you will have preferably gained your experience in an engineering design consultancy and have a passion for building trusted relationships to drive positive change and win new work.Suitable applicants will be able to demonstrate:
  • 2 - 10 years’ experience across water infrastructure design
  • Technical delivery, project management and client relationship management across Water Infrastructure projects locally and nationally
  • Design of water infrastructure projects including pipelines, intake, water retaining structures and pump stations.
  • Experience and proficient with software systems such as 12d
