Permanent Full-Time | $216,300 – $296,640 + Incentives & AllowancesWe are recruiting for a leading tertiary hospital in southern Tasmania that is seeking a dedicated Staff Specialist – Cardiologist with expertise in electrophysiology to join their well-established Cardiology Department. This position offers an excellent mix of clinical, teaching, and research responsibilities in one of Australia’s most scenic and lifestyle-friendly regions.The Role:As a Consultant Cardiologist, you will contribute to the general clinical workload of the department and play a key leadership role in the delivery of electrophysiology services. You will work within a highly integrated team that includes a Coronary Care Unit, Cardiology Ward, Cardiac Catheter Lab, and Non-Invasive Testing Unit. Services also extend statewide and include telehealth where appropriate.Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing inpatient and outpatient cardiology services with a focus on heart rhythm disorders
- Leading weekly case discussions for complex device implantation and ablation
- Supporting nurse-led clinics in electrophysiology and rhythm management
- Participating in undergraduate and postgraduate medical education
- Contributing to quality improvement, clinical governance, and ongoing service development
- Actively participating in research and maintaining a strong academic presence
- Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) in Cardiology
- Sub-specialisation in electrophysiology and cardiac devices strongly preferred
- Current or eligible Specialist Registration with AHPRA
- Demonstrated clinical leadership in tertiary or large regional hospital settings
- Commitment to evidence-based care, teaching, and continuous improvement
- Base Salary: $216,300 – $296,640 per annum (dependent on experience and seniority)
- Access to senior specialist rates (up to $310,389) if eligible

- CPD Allowance: $16,974 p.a. (pro rata)
