Categories: Post Doctoral Research AssociateThe OpportunityThe School of Photovoltaic and Renewable Energy Engineering (SPREE) has an opportunity for a Postdoctoral Fellow. You will contribute to UNSW's research efforts in developing machine learning algorithm for photovoltaic applications and utilising them for the investigation of the performance of silicon-based photovoltaic devices, independently and as part of a team.This position will provide you with the opportunity to develop your scholarly research and professional activities both nationally and internationally. You will contribute to writing scientific papers and reports for international journals, participate in conferences and workshops, supervise HDR students, and actively engage with industry partners.This role reports to Professor Ziv Hameiri and has no direct reports.
- Level A, Salary - $113,911 to $121,838 per annum + 17% superannuation

- Fixed-term contract -10 months
- Location: Kensington - Sydney, Australia
- A PhD in Photovoltaics Engineering.
- Demonstrated ability to:
- Investigation of surface recombination in silicon wafer
- Investigation of bulk defects in silicon wafers
- Demonstrated research excellence. Evidence of winning a major international award for research is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct independent research with limited supervision in the areas of:
- The development of advanced characterisation methods and systems.
- Investigation of losses in silicon-based photovoltaic devices.
- Demonstrated track record of publications and conference presentations relative to opportunity.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team, collaborate across disciplines, build effective relationships and secure team and institutional support for the proposed research.
- Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to communicate and interact with a diverse range of stakeholders and students.
- An understanding of and commitment to UNSW's aims, objectives and values in action, together with relevant policies and guidelines.
- Ability and capacity to implement required UNSW health and safety policies and procedures.
