- Work on engineering projects at any phase including concept identification and selection, FEED, Detailed Design, commissioning, and start-up.
- Develop technically sound, fit-for-purpose solutions for the Energy Industry following relevant engineering and design processes.
- Manage yourself to produce Process deliverables (e.g. P&IDs, PFDs, Calculations, Simulations, Reports) in accordance with the work budget and schedule.
- Check Process deliverables produced by your team members in accordance with the Wood quality management procedures.
- Estimate process engineering manhours required to perform basic tasks.
- Set clear technical direction for any assigned direct reports on the project.
- Stand in as deputy for the Area Lead Process Engineer for specified periods of absence, where required.
- Communicate with your team and clients, presenting results, proposals, and ideas.
- Actively engage with engineers from other disciplines to improve communication and delivery.
- Understand the needs and perspectives of the client.
- Contribute to effective design review processes (e.g. HAZOP, LOPA), identifying and eliminating rework in later project stages.
- Keep your Lead Process Engineer apprised of project activities and progress.
- Assist in developing less experienced engineers, promoting team participation, and providing mentorship.
- Identify potential weaknesses in existing practices and tools and initiate improvement processes.
- Actively apply HS&E procedures.
- 6+ years design engineering experience within the Oil & Gas production and processing industries.
- An ability to apply relevant technical practices, codes and standards appropriate to the Process Engineering discipline.
- An ability to manage risk during the design process consistent with technical and commercial requirements.
- Excellent analytical, numerical and communication skills (both written and verbal).
- Capability and willingness to undertake site visits either onshore or offshore.
- Well-developed computer skills and knowledge of MS Office applications, spreadsheets, and commercial engineering programs such as HYSYS or Unisim, Flarenet, Pipenet, HTFS or HTRI, etc.
- A “solutions mindset” and be able to manage varying tasks with changing and competing priorities.
- Experience participating in HAZOP, HAZID and LOPA studies.
