EL1 Senior Project Officer – Medicines Safety and Quality
Location: Sydney
Level: EL1
Salary: $120,829 – $137,808 + 15.4% super
Type: Full-time, non-ongoing contract until 30 June 2026Are you a skilled policy writer or clinician with a background in health, critical care or pharmacy, looking to shape meaningful national health guidance? This is a unique opportunity to lead a significant, high-impact project improving how medicines are used safely across the healthcare system.About the roleJoin a passionate and high-performing team working to improve safety and quality in healthcare. You’ll lead the development of national guidance for the standardised use of IV fluids and contribute to a range of policy and implementation projects that support the quality use of medicines across clinical settings.
  • Lead the development and implementation of national guidance for safe medicines use
  • Synthesise literature reviews, environmental scans and clinical input into practical guidance
  • Write clear, targeted reports, briefings and policy documents for a variety of audiences
  • Engage and consult with senior clinical stakeholders and expert groups
  • Manage key project activities including timelines, risk and consultation processes
  • Work autonomously while being supported by expert team members and managers
About youWe’re looking for someone with:
  • Strong research and health policy writing skills
  • Clinical or safety experience in critical care, pharmacy or healthcare settings
  • Experience engaging stakeholders and leading consultation processes
  • Confidence managing complex information and presenting clear, evidence-informed advice
  • State or Federal Government or health service experience highly regarded
