- Lead habitat regeneration activities including site preparation, planting, weed control and maintenance.
- Undertake bush regeneration work according to best practice, and OH&S requirements including weed control and biodiversity plantings.
- Plan, prepare, promote and deliver Friends Groups, corporate and community volunteer days.
- Support the organisation’s citizen science projects.
- Build and maintain WRA’s Landcare programs and partnerships.
- Manage staff, contractors, schedules, budgets, and reporting requirements.
- Represent WRA at networking meetings, workshops, and events.
- This role combines field-based habitat regeneration with community engagement and project reporting requirements.
- 5+ years’ experience in habitat regeneration, ecological restoration or similar field-based work, including working knowledge of OH&S requirements for land management.
- Strong plant identification skills (indigenous and weed species) and understanding of restoration principles.
- Demonstrated experience coordinating projects, contractors, staff and volunteers, with ability to foster a positive workplace culture.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with landholders, volunteers, community and partners.
- Demonstrated ability to set priorities, meet deadlines and deliver reporting requirements.
- Physical fitness and practical skills for fieldwork, including safe equipment operation (e.g. auger, brush cutter, manual 4WD), management of maintenance and repairs schedule.
- Certificate IV/Diploma in Conservation & Land Management (or equivalent experience).
- ChemCert AQF 3, or equivalent.
- Current First Aid Certificate
- Current Victorian driver’s licence and ability to drive manual 4WD vehicle (capable of carrying tools and materials and towing a water tank)
- Working With Children Check and police check (or willingness to obtain)
- Legal right to work in Australia.
